The Dhaka Times Desk As the days go by, there is more and more commotion about the arrest of the killer of Comilla college student Sohagi Jahan Tanu. Today (Sunday) the road was blocked in Shahbagh demanding the arrest of Tanu's killers.
A group of students of Dhaka University blocked the road in Shahbagh of the capital and demanded the arrest of the killers of Comilla college student Sohagi Jahan Tanu.
Today (Sunday) after various programs throughout the day, hundreds of students took a stand at Shahbag intersection at 5 pm. They sat around the road and chanted slogans demanding the arrest of the murderer.
Due to the location of the students there, the traffic at that important intersection was completely stopped. It was like this for at least half an hour. After explaining to the students, the road blockade was lifted. When the students got up at around 5:30, road communication was activated.
It is to be noted that Sohagi Jahan Tanu, a student of Victoria College, was murdered very close to her home in Comilla cantonment area on the night of March 20. She is believed to have been raped before the murder. Tanu's father Yar Hossain, an employee of the Cantonment Board filed a case but the police could not identify or arrest any murderer even after 6 long days. At present, the investigation of this case has been entrusted to DBK.
