Unmanned station: the story of a ghost train!

The Dhaka Times Desk Such a station seems to have never been heard of before. There are stories of deserted stations and a haunted train today!

The train runs through the villages and suburbs of West Yorkshire, England. His journey started from Leeds and stopped at Snaith. From Snaith, however, a pair of trains return to Leeds. One in the morning, the other in the evening. There is one break in this movement, that is Sunday. There are total 10 stations on the route.

There is nothing surprising in such news. This train is running without a passenger. There is not a single passenger in this train. There are 10 stations in the middle, no passengers get on this train!

So this train is called as ghost train. And these stations? They are ghost stations! This tradition has been going on for at least twenty years.

লন্ডনের পরে ব্রিটেনের সবথেকে ব্যস্ত স্টেশন হলো লিড্‌স। তবে এই রুটে লিড্‌স হতে এই ট্রেনে কোনও যাত্রীই ওঠেন না। অন্য ট্রেনে ওই রুটে কোনও স্টেশনে যেতে হলে যাত্রীরা সরাসরি যায় না। গন্তব্যের আগের বা পরের স্টেশনে তারা নেমে পড়েন। তার পরে বাস কিংবা অন্য কিছু করে পৌঁছান গন্তব্যে। একটাই কারণ, তা হলো ভূতের ভয়। এমনকী লিড্‌স হতে এই ১০টি স্টেশনের টিকিটও কাওকে দেখা যায় না। বছরের পর বছর রেলের লোকসান গুণতে হচ্ছে। তবুও এই ট্রেনের যাত্রা বন্ধ হয়নি। তাহলে কেনো? অনেকের বিশ্বাস, এই ট্রেনেই হয়তো যাতায়াত করেন অশরীরী অর্থাৎ ভুতনা!…
