The Dhaka Times Desk The Indian state government of West Bengal has announced a special month-long Ramadan package on the occasion of Ramadan. Through this special package, the general public can buy cheap food items throughout the month of Ramadan.
This special Ramadan package is not only for Muslims but people of every community of the state will get cheap packaged food through this package.
According to the announcement of the Ramzan package of the West Bengal state government, this special Ramzan package will run from June 5 to July 6. This package is included in the state government's food companion scheme.
The West Bengal government has said that every family in the state can take this service through any type of ration card. The state government will allocate Rs 14 crore as subsidy for this special package for this year's Ramadan.
Sources in the West Bengal Food Directorate said that this year's special Ramadan package will include packaged flour, gram, sugar, oil, dates and several other items at subsidized prices.
The products of this Ramadan special package will be lower than the price of goods in the open market. Every family in the state will get this special Ramadan package twice a month.
West Bengal Food Minister Jyotipriya Mallick said that this special package has been decided on the occasion of the holy month of Ramzan. The special packets will contain 1 kg flour, 500 gm sugar, 500 gm gram, one liter of mustard oil and various items throughout the month of Ramadan. These products will be sold at least 10 rupees less than the market price.
