King Pitambar Originally: Founder of the Puthiya dynasty. He established his capital at Puthia in Rajshahi in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. He excavated the reservoir along with the construction of several beautiful buildings.
According to its history, in 1823-1830 AD, Queen Bhubanamayi built the Bhubaneswar Shiv Mandir in front of a huge reservoir. It is also specially known as Pancharatna Shiv Mandir. The Pancharatna Shiv Mandir in Puthia remains architecturally superior among the large, towering and clustered Shiv Mandirs in Bangladesh. It is known as one of the major architectural landmarks of Bangladesh.
