The Dhaka Times Desk 9 people were killed in a shootout with law and order forces during an operation in search of 'militant hideouts' in the capital's Kalyanpur.
The 'Storm Twenty Six' operation was conducted overnight around the building called 'Jahaj Building' next to Girls High School on Road No. 5 of Kalyanpur. The operation was completed early today (Tuesday). Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) sources said that 9 bodies were found there.
The IGP of police told reporters in the morning that initially it is believed that the bodies of 9 people who were recovered are militants. Because they were wearing the same clothes as the Gulshan attack. He told reporters that they had turbans on their heads. They are initially believed to be JMB members.
One person was arrested with bullet wounds in this operation. Another escaped. It is reported that one policeman was injured in this operation.
