The picture you are seeing is the historic big mosque of Hajiganj in Chandpur.
Hajiganj Bara Mosque is located on the side of Chandpur-Comilla highway. This mosque is a unique example of rare craftsmanship in Hajiganj upazila, which is adorned with natural beauty.
This mosque is one of the largest mosques in the subcontinent. This historic Jame Masjid is located in Hajiganj which is famous as the largest Jamat Masjid of Jumatul Bida.
It is known that around the 11th century of Bengal, an old man named Hazrat Makim Uddin (RA) came to this present Hajiganj area of Chandpur with his family from Arab land for the purpose of spreading Islam. Later, his descendant Haji Muniruddin (Manai Ghazi), the great-grandson of Haji Ahmed Ali Patwari (RA) established the mosque by waqfing the site for the historic Jame Masjid of Hajiganj.
With a total area of 28,405 square feet, this huge mosque has a towering minaret of 188 feet height. There is a staircase to the top of the minar. Many devotees climb to the top of this minaret. So it is a historical mosque of our country.
