The Dhaka Times Desk Pakhi aka Madhumita Chakraborty has filed a case at Lalbazar Police Station in India for publishing prostitution news about Kolkata actress Madhumita Chakraborty on some websites of Bangladesh.
The portals published the news that 'Pakhi' of the serial 'Bojhe naa se bojha naa' was arrested from a hotel in Goa while engaging in prostitution. He alleged that not only this fake news was spread, but several pictures of Madhumita were also distorted and taken on those sites.
On Friday morning, Madhumita Chakraborty met with the Joint CP Headquarters in Lalbazar, India and complained. Madhumita's husband actor Saurabh Chakraborty was with her. They also handed over his mutilated photos to the police. He filed a case under the Information Technology section alleging conspiracy.
According to police sources, the investigation process has already started on the IP address. The news or pictures have been uploaded from some web portal, efforts are on to find out who did it. If the allegations are proved, the guilty will be arrested.
Madhumita (the bird) said, 'Those who have done such a thing are criminals. They should be punished accordingly. What happened to me today may happen to someone else tomorrow. How dare they do this? I want to catch these Carlprits.'
The local media reported fake news and the case, but they did not mention the name of any website.
Pakhi aka Madhumita became very popular not only in India but also in Bangladesh by acting as 'Pakhi' in the serial 'Bojhe Naa Se Bojhe Naa'. However, there is no evidence that any of Bangladesh's leading online websites have published this news about prostitution.

Although the name of an Indian newspaper was mentioned as the source, no such news was actually published in that newspaper on that date.
