According to information, this mosque with 6 domes was built by Shams Al-Din Ahmad Shah 833-839 Hijri 1432/1433-1435/36 AD in Mahjampur of Jampur Union of Sonargaon Upazila.
It is also known as Ahmad Shah's Mosque. Ain-i Akbari written by Abul Fazl about the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar describes Mohjampur.
