A startup company named Proterra is working to create the world's first electric bus. They have already developed a prototype electric bus. The model of this car is Catalyst E2 series. This bus will run for 350 km on a single charge.
Although earlier, the technology manufacturing company Tesla produced electric cars. However, Tesla's car can run a maximum of 300 kilometers on a single charge.
This year's Proterra Electric Catalyst E2 bus has two batteries. This battery is capable of producing 660 kilowatts of power.
The price of this lightweight car is estimated at 7 lakh 99 thousand dollars. Proterra is trying to produce electric buses commercially. This car is expected to be available in the market by 2017.
