The Dhaka Times Desk Bangladesh has given Afghanistan a target of 266 runs to win the first ODI.
After winning the toss and batting first at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today, the Tigers of Bengal were all out for 265 runs with Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah Riyad hitting half centuries on behalf of the country.
Bangladesh lost a wicket in the first over. Then Tamim Iqbal led the innings with Imrul Kayes. Bangladesh scored 50 runs in 10 overs. Just when the Tamim-Imrul pairing was a nightmare for the Afghan bowlers, Imrul Kayes lost patience. Imrul went back after being bowled by Mohammad Nabi for a personal 37 runs.
Bangladesh's runs were 84 then. Then in the 22nd over, Tamim completed his half century by hitting four off Rashid Khan. The batsman crossed the century by hitting another four in the next ball. After Imrul's departure, Mahmudullah Riyad continued to give great support to Tamim.
Bangladesh played till the last ball and collected a total of 265 runs.
