The Dhaka Times Desk The Sunday morning-evening strike called by the 18-party coalition led by BNP has been withdrawn. It is reported that the strike has been called off due to the impact of Cyclone Mahasena.
Earlier yesterday at 11 o'clock BNP-led 18 party's decision to go on strike was announced by Shamsuzzaman Dudu, BNP Chairperson's advisor. Later in the afternoon, a press conference was held again to announce the withdrawal of the strike. Calling off the strike is said to be called off on humanitarian grounds as Cyclone Mahasen is about to hit the country. Along with this, all the leaders and workers of BNP and 18 parties in the affected areas have been called to stand by the affected people.
