Because the new Mahasena was born in the shelter. 24-year-old Jyotsna Begum gave birth to a boy at this shelter at 6 am on Thursday.
The people of this shelter in Patuakhali spent the entire night in fear of Mahasen. But before dawn they heard the cry of a newborn. In this incident, everyone was filled with joy, for a moment everyone forgot about the storm and rejoiced with the newborn.
A relative of the newborn's mother, Jyotsna Begum, said that Jyotsna, her husband and her mother took shelter at the Chippa Union Parishad Complex shelter in fear of storm Mahasen. They came from West Boalia village. At that time, Jyotsna Begum was pregnant.
Another neighbor of Jyotsna Begum staying in the same shelter said, they were staying in the shelter all night amid fear and panic, meanwhile we all rejoiced over the birth of this newborn in the morning.
As there was no doctor at the shelter when the baby was born, the baby's grandmother helped as a midwife. The child's father, construction worker Forkan Mridha, said we are happy with the boy at the shelter, the news has been sent home.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the newborn complained that so far no government medical officer has come to look after the child.
