The Dhaka Times Desk An amazing village has been discovered where no children are born! The name of the village is Sanka Jagi, which is located only 70 km from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, India.
This village in India is not inaccessible in terms of location, but only because of superstitions, the people of this village are falling back hundreds of years! Surprisingly, no children were born in the village for several decades. The reason is that the people of the village have a belief that if a child is born in the village then the child will die or become crippled. Therefore, pregnant women are sent outside the village during delivery. However, after the birth of the child, they returned to their home.
A maternity ward is built outside the village, where most mothers give birth to their babies. Others were admitted to local hospitals.
About 1,200 people live in Sanka Jagir village under Narsingarh sub-division in Rajgarh district. Most of the people here are from the Gurjar community. There is an ancient temple in the village.
According to a report published in BBC Bangla news, the hope is that the current panchayat head of the village, who is very young, named Narendra Singh, is trying to break such a belief of the people of the village. Narendra and his other eight brothers were also born outside the village.
