The picture you are looking at is the historical Gaur Chhota Sonamsjid located in Shibganj Police Station of Chapai Nawabganj District.
The historic Gaur Sonamsjid is located in Rajshahi Division, a traditional area of Bangladesh. Located in Shibganj police station of Chapai Nawabganj district, this mosque is better known as historical Gaur Chhota Sonamsjid.
This natural monument is believed to have been built in the 15th century. This mosque has 15 domes, 41 graves, there is a medium sized dighi on the east side of the mosque. Inside the mosque is a place called Bicharalaya. At one time the trial was completed sitting here.
The walls of the mosque are built with small stones and terracotta slabs. The walls of the mosque are decorated with intricate designs. The interesting thing is that Bir Shrestha Mohiuddin Jahangir and his companion a freedom fighter are sleeping next to this mosque.
The size of the mosque is square. Sonamsjid College is also built around this Sonamsjid. A memorial has been built in memory of the freedom fighters. There are mosques, madrassas and holy Allah's shrines as monuments of ancient times. Darsh Bari Mosque, Darshbari Madrasah, Khaniyad Dighi Mosque, Dhanai Chak Mosque, Balia Dighi, Tahkhana Mosque, Maktab, Tahkhana Madrasah are among them.
Here is Shah Niamatullah (RA): Mazar Sharif. It is believed that he came to spread Islam in India and Bengal and stayed at this Sonamsjid. Tourists from all over the country flock here every day. Fascinated by the intricate designs, various stone cut designs and burnt clay plaques, bind yourself to the picture frame. A temporary library and photo gallery have been built around this mosque. All in all, it is a historical mosque.
