One such Rohingya, Noor Mohammad, is hiding in the forest and hills in Chaliparang area of Mangdu, Myanmar.
In an interview, he said, 'Some of them are hiding in the forest and hills of Mangdu area. Their house is also in that area. Last October, their area was attacked and their houses were burnt. Attacks were also carried out from helicopters. Many people died in that attack. Again, someone escaped and survived.'
He also said that the attackers also tortured women. Many have been captured by them.
How is the situation now? When asked, Noor Mohammad said, 'When the military is not there, we go to the village. Back to solar power, mobile charging through batteries. A few of us also used to do mobile phone charging business. Someone is at risk of life. We also sometimes go out in search of food. But we return to the forest again.'
What is possible to live like this? In response to such a question, Noor Mohammad said, 'There is no food, there is no water. There is also the fact that I have not eaten for three days. Still we are trying to survive. If you can do something for us.'
Noor Mohammad also said, 'There were about 7 thousand residents, about 1500 families in our village. They are all gone. No houses are now intact.'
He said, 'I have 6 sisters, no parents. I married 2 sisters. 4 sisters were at home with me on the day of the attack. I found out that 2 sisters ran away and went to Kutupalong in Cox's Bazar. I still don't know where the other 2 sisters are.'
The network of Bangladeshi mobile phone companies operates in the border area of Myanmar adjacent to Bangladesh. Bangladesh mobile phone company SIM is used in those areas. Noor Mohammad spoke to this reporter four times. However, he could not always be found on the mobile phone. Sometimes he is found. Because there 'sometimes the mobile phone network goes down.'
Noor Mohammad said, 'I am trying to come to Bangladesh for asylum. I have relatives there. But I don't know if I can come.'
It should be noted that according to the latest information published by the United Nations, 22 thousand Rohingya have been forced to seek refuge in Bangladesh in the last 6 weeks. The United Nations said in a statement on Friday that at least 86 people have been killed in the Myanmar army's crackdown on Rakhine since October 9. At least 30,000 people lost their homes.
