The world's cleanest country is importing dirt!

The Dhaka Times Desk What is a real burden to everyone, has become an asset to Sweden! So the cleanest country in the world is importing dirt!

According to media reports, the world's cleanest country in Scandinavia, Sweden, is importing garbage and waste!

You must be surprised to hear such things - import garbage! What kind of talk is this? But this really strange thing is happening in Sweden. But this is not of exceptional import for any new invention or scientific discovery. Sweden has reached out to neighboring countries for the import of garbage under complete compulsion!

It is known that Swedes are traditionally very conscious about garbage. The country's residents recycle almost all of their waste.

About half of Sweden's electricity is produced from renewable sources. To encourage this sector, the country imposed a high tax on fossil fuels in 1991.

However, the situation now is that, since 2011, no household waste has come out of Sweden's residents. Last year only one percent of waste was landfilled.

Due to which the country's garbage-run power plants have to face problems. Because Sweden is number one in the world in producing electricity from waste in its own way. This waste fuel is one of the sources of energy for power plants. More than half of the country's power plants have been shut down for lack of waste.

9.8 million people in the Scandinavian country of Sweden save themselves from extreme cold with this garbage burning electricity. However, the amount of waste that needs to be burned to generate electricity is not matched in Sweden. Therefore, the import of garbage is now the hope of the country.

Meanwhile, knowing about Sweden's crisis, countries like Norway and England are already helping Sweden by sending garbage. This time, Sweden wants to import more garbage from Italy, Bulgaria and Romania.

Sweden is considering a permanent solution to this problem. Therefore, Sweden has announced plans to regularly import waste from some countries including the United Kingdom.

In this regard, Anna Karin Gripwell, director of communications at the Swedish Waste Management Regulatory Committee, said that according to the new European Union law, garbage is prohibited in any country, so countries send waste to Sweden.
