50 rupees note cancelled
Bangladesh Bank canceled the new note of 50 taka due to misspelling of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin's name. The company decided on March 7. Governor's Protocol Officer AFM Asaduzzaman confirmed the matter. Zainul Abedin is spelled 'Abedin' in the new 50 taka note with Bangabandhu's photo released by Bangladesh Bank on March 7. Zainul never spelled his name like that. His signature, various books, Bangla Pedia and his tombstone in Dhaka University do not have that spelling written anywhere. Prominent people are looking at this mistake with eyes of condemnation. They see this as a serious mistake. Why the name of a famous artist is wrong should be looked into.
