Before the smartphone market, this Finnish multinational IT company was exclusively 'serving' mobile phone users. This 'service' was the handset's durability and affordable price. Later, with the advent of iPhone and Android in the market, the Nokia became 'endangered' in no time. Once the Nokia is now coming to the market as 'smart'!
According to media reports, Nokia will initially focus on the Chinese market. HMD Global, the owner of the Nokia brand, recently announced that the first Nokia smartphone will be launched in China at a price of 1,699 yuan (US$246).
After Nokia sold its handset unit to Microsoft in 2014, this is the first smartphone to be announced in the market. The company also said that the new phone set will be manufactured by the Taiwanese multinational company Foxconn.
This smartphone has Google's Android as its operating system. Initially, the phone set will be sold only in China via JD.com.
It should be noted that after the agreement with Microsoft in 2014, low-cost 'Microsoft Phone' was brought to the market, but it was withdrawn from this business last year.
