Hosni Mubarak is going to be released

The Dhaka Times Desk Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is going to be released after 6 long years. He may be released from jail this week.

At the beginning of the Arab Spring in 2011, Hosni Mubarak, who had been in charge of the country's president for 30 years, was ousted during the coup in Egypt. He had to go to jail on multiple charges of murder and financial corruption. Hosni Mubarak was sentenced to life in prison in 2012 for plotting to kill 239 protesters who joined the military coup against him.

He was later acquitted from those cases by the High Court. However, Mubarak was supposed to be jailed for the scandal related to the maintenance of the presidential palace. However, due to the long detention in the case of murder, the term of that punishment was removed from there. So there is no obstacle to his release.

It should be noted that Hosni Mubarak has been spending 6 years in prison and army hospital since his imprisonment. The former president's lawyer said that Hosni Mubarak wants to return to his home in Heliopolis near Cairo after his release.
