Each of the 65 rooms in this hotel is designed differently every year. All but the bed-jazim and the bolga are made of snow or ice.
The hotel offers overnight stays from December to April. The rest of the time, however, a portion is open, but the room is kept cool by solar energy.
Every year at the beginning of November, a team of about a hundred people starts the construction of these temporary rooms of the hotel. About 35 thousand tons of ice and snow are used to build houses! Every season around 100 designers propose designs for the houses.
The plan to build this ice hotel started in 1989. The icemen built an 'igloo' i.e. Eskimo's house at that time. which is later used as a bar. After finishing the party, many fell asleep in the igloo! This hotel started from that.
Staying at this special ice hotel will cost you 230 Euros for one night! Guests usually stay at the hotel for one night only.
According to media reports, a room in the hotel was designed by designer Anna Olund. "When people think of Sweden, they think of Stockholm and the Ice Hotel," he said. Now many tourists are coming, staying and working here. I think this is an important hotel!”
