That's why, at the age of retirement, he did not confine himself to the four walls and went down with the bag of education! Earlier he was a blood bank employee. After retirement, he employed himself as a health worker. Devoted himself to the needy people. His name is Onkarnath Sharma, age 79

He dreams even at this age. His dream is to create a medicine bank for the poor. And to realize that dream, he has come down to the streets of the capital. From this neighborhood to this neighborhood. From one house to another house. He is now busy collecting all kinds of medicines from the upper and middle classes.

Since 2008, he has been walking a distance of about 5 to 7 kilometers every day. But why suddenly the plan to build a medical bank for the poor came to his mind? According to 'Medicine Baba', when the Delhi Metro Bridge under construction in Laxminagar area collapsed, he saw many people suffering due to lack of proper treatment. He also saw many people going to the local hospital and returning without getting medicine. From then on, he decided that he should continue on this new path.

He kept the medicines collected by begging in a small room of his rented house in Mangalapuri. It is given to the poor from 4 pm to 6 pm every day.

It is known that during this time, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital and many ashrams also gave the medicines collected by him through begging. But it is not only a matter of serving the poor with medicine, but also to make everyone aware of the fact that everyone should think twice before throwing away the useful medicine before its expiry date. Even after this, Onkarnath Sharma did not stop. This old man Onkar Nath Sharma also stands by those who are suffering from cancer and kidney disease, who cannot afford treatment. He is sometimes seen on the bus and tram in the work of collecting money for all these people! And the people who got cured with medicine from him are now a fan of Onkarnath Sharma!
