HSC and equivalent exams are starting today

The Dhaka Times Desk HSC and equivalent exams are starting from today (Sunday). This time the total number of candidates is 11 lakh 83 thousand 686.

Compared to last year, the number of candidates this year is 34 thousand 942 less. Last year (in 2016) there were 12 lakh 18 thousand 628 candidates in this examination.

Today is the first day of Bangla First Paper exam. Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will inspect the examination which started at 10 am. It is said that higher officials of the Ministry of Education will also be present during the visit to the Dhaka College Center.

According to the information received, the number of 6 lakh 35 thousand 697 male and female students is 5 lakh 47 thousand 989 among the total participants.

9 lakh 82 thousand 783 students in HSC under 8 General Education Boards, 99 thousand 320 candidates for Alim under Madrasa Board, 96 thousand 914 students in Technical Board and 4 thousand 669 students in DIBS (Diploma in Business Studies) are participating in this exam.

HSC theory exam which started today will end on May 15. Then the practical exam will start from May 16, which will continue till May 25.

This time the examination of 8 thousand 864 institutions will be held in 2 thousand 497 centers. 271 candidates are participating in 7 centers abroad this time.

According to sources of the Ministry of Education, this time the candidates have to enter the hall 30 minutes before the start of the exam. First there will be Multiple Choice (MCQ) and then Essay (Theory) test. There will be no time gap between both the exams.
