Macron elected president of France: Who is this Macron?

Meanwhile, his rival, anti-immigration hard-right Marine Le Pen, got 34.9 percent of the vote. The official result will be announced on May 10.

Prior to this, the final voting for the French presidential election began on May 7 (Sunday) morning local time. Millions of voters across the country cast their ballots at the polling stations to choose their preferred president.
