India's judge 6 months imprisonment!

The Dhaka Times Desk The Supreme Court of the country sentenced CS Karnan, the judge of Calcutta High Court of India, to 6 months imprisonment.

A bench of 7 members announced the sentence to CS Karnan. At the same time, the Director General of Police of West Bengal has been ordered to arrest Karnan.

Karnan announced an unprecedented sentence on May 8, the day before this sentence was announced on May 9. Where he announced the sentence of 5 years imprisonment of 8 judges of the Supreme Court including the Chief Justice of India JS Khehar, as well as a fine of one lakh rupees.

This crisis of judges started from January 23. Justice Karnan of Kolkata High Court recently wrote a letter to Prime Minister Modi. In that letter, he accused some retired and serving judges of the Supreme Court and the Madras High Court of corruption. Justice Karnan also wrote to the Prime Minister to order an inquiry against those judges. The Supreme Court ordered Justice Karnan to appear before the Supreme Court and answer the question whether this letter should be considered as contempt of the judiciary. Justice Karnan did not appear that day.

The Supreme Court of India ordered the mental health examination of Justice Karnan on May 1. With which the commotion started. Later last week, when the police and a special medical team went to Justice Karnan's house for a mental health examination, he turned them away.

The 7-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by the Chief Justice issued an arrest warrant against him last Friday as he did not appear in court despite being given two dates.

When the Kolkata police went to arrest him, he immediately suspended the Supreme Court's order declaring it 'unjust' and 'unconstitutional' and immediately set up a special court in his own house to order punishment against the Supreme Court judges! However, all judicial and administrative powers have already been taken away from him by the Supreme Court, which is why the orders issued by him have no legal basis.
