The Blue and Yellow Macaw parrot is quite a national bird. This bird is popular and has gained popularity as a pet bird for people. This bird lives in the freshwater forests of the Amazon rainforest in South America.
During the mid-1980s, their habitat was developed on a very small scale in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA.
This bird is typically 76 to 86 cm (30 to 34 inches) in length and weighs 900-1500 grams. That is why this bird is considered as one of the largest species of birds in their family.
The eye-catching beauty of this bird is decorated with blue wings and tail, thick blue chin, golden color on the lower part and green color on the head. The eyes of this bird are black. Their faces are white under the eyes. There are again small black feathers under the mouth. Macaws are birds with strong beaks that are able to break the hard shells of nuts and consume them as food. Macaws can climb trees and hang from tree branches.
In the wild, this type of macaw is quite aggressive.
Usually: Blue and Yellow Macaw birds live together with their opposite sex mate for life. Usually: They nest in dead trees. The female usually lays two to three eggs. Twenty-eight days the female bird lays it in the egg. The young are said to leave the nest after about 97 days. Male babies can be identified from the start by their bright and dense coloration.
