A king in Africa, a gardener in Canada

The Dhaka Times Desk Kings will have vast kingdoms, rich possessions. But this king is not like that. He left his country and worked as a gardener in another country.

It is said about the king of a West African tribe named Eric Manu. He was chosen as the next king when Manu's uncle, the former king of the tribe, died last year. After three years in Canada with his wife and son, he returned to the southern region of Ghana as king.

He returned to Canada working as a gardener to earn money to spend on health care for his subjects in Africa.

About becoming king, Manu says, “It's a great experience. You have to take it with interest. It is associated with my heritage and culture.”
