The Dhaka Times Desk Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon.com, is one of the richest people in the world today. He has so much wealth that he wants to know how to use it for the welfare of the common people!
He said that if he likes someone's wisdom in this matter then he can choose it. Baez asked a question on social networking site Twitter. There he wrote that, 'If you were given more or less 8 billion US dollars, how would you spend it?'
He posed the question to wit, noting in a Twitter message that, 'I'm thinking of an approach to public welfare that's the exact opposite of how we usually spend our time.' Baez also said in that message that he likes to work in the long term.
But Bezes here means long-term investment in Twitter by long-term work. According to him, these investments benefit society and civilization in their own way. Baez's long-term investments include his online shopping giant Amazon. Moreover, he recently bought the Washington Post media with his own money. He founded the space research institute Blue Origin.
Baez also said on Twitter that he wants to make short-term investments in public welfare. It fills an urgent need and leaves a lasting impact.
It should be noted that the founder of tech giant Microsoft Bill Gates and his wife have already earned enough reputation by spreading money in both hands for public welfare.
