Recently, Professor Daphne Yao and Gang Wang of the University of Virginia have been working on this issue with a research team. Research shows that apps can compromise your personal information in two ways.
For example, there are apps that are actually malware apps, created for the purpose of cyber-harm. Then there are apps from which information can be extracted easily. The real intention of the developer is not always clear when it comes to these apps.
The research team analyzed 110,150 apps and came to the conclusion that 100,206 of them are popular apps on the Google Play Store.
They feel that there is a need to move well on the security issues of the app. There is a need to raise more awareness in this regard. The suggestion of the research team is that the user must be careful before downloading any app. The researchers said that the app should be downloaded only after understanding it well.
