Rats are nesting and giving birth in no time inside garbage cans. Rats can be found in most of the old buildings in the city. Some rodents are shaped like cats.
City health workers are constantly discovering rats in various restaurants. In a word, these rats are making life miserable for the residents of this multinational city. Recently, the city administration declared a war against bed bugs. Local city mayor Bill de Blasio said that a special project for killing rats will cost 32 million dollars.
It is reported that in 2015, citizens sent 17,200 complaints about rats to the New York City hotline. The previous year this number was 12 thousand 600. Rats are the most infested in some places. It has been identified in those charge sheets.
The public park in front of the city mayor's official residence has been infested with rats even by the mayor himself. Joseph J. Lohta, who lost the 2013 election to Bill de Blasio, said the city's parks, subways and apartment buildings now have more rats than at any other time. The mayor said that at least 70 percent of the rats are planned to be killed.
According to media reports, the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, Bedford-Stuyvacent in Brooklyn and downtown Manhattan are better known as rat factories! These places are being considered as the target of the project.
