"Photos of the operation in Arakan 'hidden' Myanmar army"!

Photos posted on Myanmar Army Chief Min Aung Hlaing's official Facebook page between August 1 and August 29 have suddenly disappeared.

The Dhaka Times Desk After taking photos of the Rohingya killing operation in Myanmar's Arakan state, Facebook has now 'hidden it' from the 'Myanmar army'. This information was given in the news of Reuters.

A Reuters investigation revealed that after Facebook took pictures of Rakhine raids in Myanmar's Arakan state, they have now been hidden by Myanmar's army.

The international community has widely criticized Myanmar for the indiscriminate killing of Muslim Rohingyas and the burning of their houses in the campaign in Rakhine State.

About a quarter of a million Rohingyas took refuge in Bangladesh after the operation started on August 25. After that, the issue was also raised in the United Nations by urging Bangladesh to resolve the crisis.

A Reuters report on Tuesday revealed that the images were hidden from Facebook amid a UN investigation into the crackdown by Myanmar's military.

Reuters says in one of its reports, the photos posted on the official Facebook page of Myanmar's army chief Min Aung Hlaing from August 1 to August 29 have suddenly disappeared.

The pictures are not visible on that Facebook page now, but the pictures are available with a specific day or keyword search, Reuters said.

The international news organization also said that it is not clear why and when the posts disappeared. But on Sunday, Monday and even Tuesday, the posts were not seen from different parts of Asia.

When contacted, Myanmar's defense ministry spokesman General Aung Ye Win told Reuters, "We did not hide anything, maybe it was some kind of mistake."

Zhao Tai, a spokesman for Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi, declined to comment and referred the matter to a defense ministry spokesman.

Myo Thu Soe, a spokesman for the military-controlled Ministry of the Interior, said in response to questions from Reuters that he had no idea.

A Facebook spokesperson told Reuters that the admin of the Facebook page concerned can hide such posts at any time.

It should be noted that in Myanmar, the Rohingyas' houses are being burnt down by the army campaign to ethnically exterminate the Rohingyas. Millions of Rohingya Muslims have taken refuge in Bangladesh as refugees. Meanwhile, the United Nations has complained about this, but the country has always denied it.
