The Dhaka Times Desk Ambassadors from a total of 20 countries, including most Western countries working in Myanmar, said in a joint statement that they visited Rohingya villages in Myanmar's Rakhine state and found their homes burnt to ashes.

In the statement, they said that the residents of the homesteads in various villages in Rakhine State had fled elsewhere and they also witnessed scenes of destruction caused by the army's violence.
Yesterday (Tuesday) after the visit to Rakhine in cooperation with the Myanmar government in the region, the diplomats said, 'We saw that the villages were burnt and there were no people there. The violence there must stop.'
The diplomats also said, "We saw a terrible humanitarian disaster during that visit" and "we call once again to create an environment where people can live safely." In addition, life-saving services should reach that state. No discrimination can be kept with other states.'
The visit and statement by foreign diplomats came five weeks after the country's military launched the world's worst crackdown on a minority community in Rakhine, accused of terrorism.
The statement also said that the army should protect the life and property of all the people of Rakhine State without any discrimination.
The diplomats also said that the violence should be investigated by high-level experts. Diplomats noted that their visit was 'not a fact-finding mission.'
Diplomats have also called for a UN fact-finding mission to be allowed to visit Rakhine State.
The diplomats also said in the statement, 'We again condemn the attack carried out by ARSA on August 25. However, I express my deepest condolences for the violence and mass exodus that it has caused.'
It should be noted that the countries where diplomats visit are the United States, European Union, Britain, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Serbia, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey, Sweden and Diplomats from Finland participated in the visit.
