Nokia has not been able to maintain monopoly in the mobile product market with Android phones. But they are going to capture the market again like before. They lost the market because they failed to keep pace with the changes. But 'Star Trek', the TV series that launched a new cult following for almost 50 years, is back on the small screen after a hiatus of almost 12 years.
Nokia phones and Star Trek series are coming in front of consumers and buyers in keeping with smartphone technology and Netflix online streaming technology. Technologists also see some similarities between Nokia and Star Trek, which has evolved while maintaining its originality.
Nokia-8's 5.3-inch screen (2560 x 1440 pixels) is made after the Pad or Personal Access Display Device (PADD) shown in Star Trek. It is said to be protected by Corning's Gorilla Glass 5.
The Nokia 8 features a dual-sight mode similar to Geordi's visor device from Star Trek. With which the phone users can use the front and back camera of the phone simultaneously in split screen or divided screen. The creators of the technology have named it 'bothy'.
The Nokia 8 is said to have a Star Trek-style universal translation device and video conference module. With which phone buyers can use Google Translate, Google Duo and Meet easily. Technologists believe that by adding these new technologies, Nokia is trying to capture the market again.
