Ashraful apologized to the nation after admitting guilt

The Dhaka Times Desk Former captain of Bangladesh national cricket team Mohammad Ashraful apologized to the nation by admitting guilt. Today BCB temporarily banned him for match fixing in BPL.

On Tuesday afternoon, at his residence in the capital, he accepted the responsibility of match-fixing and apologized to the journalists. Khabar Bangladesh News24.

Ashraful said, “I told Aksu everything about match fixing. Aksu has forbidden me to talk about it with anyone else.”

It is to be noted that earlier this afternoon in a press conference held at the BCB office in Mirpur, BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon said that Mohammad Ashraful will not be able to play any form of cricket until the ICC's anti-corruption and security unit (ACSU) investigation into BPL match-fixing is over.

After the press conference of BCB, Ashraful did not want to come in front of the reporters when reporters from various media including multiple television went to his house to ask his reaction. His father later 'forcefully' brought him in front of reporters, the media reported.
