Maitri Udyan will be inaugurated on December 16 in Chotthakhola, South Tripura, India. It is a place full of memories of the liberation war of Bangladesh. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is said to inaugurate this park.
During the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971, there was a temporary camp of freedom fighters in Chotthakhola. To preserve that memory, in 2009 local MLA Sudhan Das named the place Muktijudda Memorial Park and started Muktijudda Utsav. Later the place was named India-Bangladesh Friendship Garden.
It is known that the then foreign minister of Bangladesh Dipu Moni laid the foundation stone of this park in 2010. This international standard park has been built on 20 hectares of land under the initiative of the state government. This place has several murals of the Liberation War including a huge sculpture of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bangladesh Victory Day on December 16 along with the inauguration of the park, it is known in the media that programs have been organized at various places in Tripura including Chothakhola.
