Myanmar Is Trying to Erase All Data on Rohingya: New York Times

The Dhaka Times Desk According to the New York Times, the Myanmar government is trying to erase all signs, symbols, history and traditions of the Rohingya ethnic group.

A New York Times report published on Saturday featured an interview with a Rohingya leader who won a seat in Myanmar's 1990 parliamentary elections.

According to the report, the person named Kew Min was a member of a Rohingya student organization in the college. He also studied in government schools. He even won a parliamentary seat in the elections held in 1990. However, according to the Myanmar government, there are no Rohingya companions left in Kew Min.

Kew Min, who lives in Yangon, Myanmar's commercial capital, also told this reporter that the Rohingyas are over in our country. Soon we will all be dead, or gone.

Citing a UN report, the report further stated that Myanmar forces targeted teachers, cultural and religious leaders among the minority Rohingya Muslims, who carried on the Rohingya culture.
