This sudden invention in the laboratory of the University of Tokyo was recently published in the magazine 'Science'.
The fact is that a group of researchers under the supervision of Professor Takuzo Ida of the Department of Chemistry and Biotechnology of the University of Tokyo was trying to make a special type of glue. Suddenly some changes came to Takuzo's attention. He discovers that what a graduate student has unexpectedly created is not glue at all, but a special type of glass that, if cracked or broken, has the ability to repair itself!
Professor Takuzo said that if the broken part of the glass is pressed by hand at normal room temperature, it will stick together. Hold for 30 seconds if the temperature is 21 degrees Celsius. This special type of glass (self-healing glass) is said to be made by using certain proportions of polymers.
