Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Jerusalem, the holiest place for Muslims, has special value and therefore the Muslim world will not compromise on Jerusalem. Erdogan also strongly criticized US President Donald Trump's decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
According to media reports, in a speech given at the '16th Islamic Circle of North America' conference held in Chicago, United States on Saturday local time, he also said, "Jerusalem is a 'red line' for Muslims." He also urged not to allow anyone to create division among Muslims through ethnic, communal or cultural differences.
Praising the passage of the anti-Israel-US resolution at the United Nations General Assembly last December 21, Erdogan said, "Our victory over Jerusalem proves that we can achieve many things if we are united." Also, the UN vote made it clear that there are values that money can never buy."
