Akiz's pedal-powered two-wheeler 'e-bike' is powered by a 350 watt lead acid battery. Battery capacity is 60 volts and 12 amp hours. It will take 8 hours to fully charge the battery. A maximum of 6 rupees of electricity will be required to fully charge the bike every day! It will cost less than 200 rupees for a whole month.
'E-Bike' 'Eagle' can travel 45-50 km in a day if charged overnight. The speed is also not very low. The bike will run at a speed of 38 km per hour.
Akiz Motors service manager Abu Shahadat told the media. Noman said, 'Many people in Bangladesh have a misconception about electric bikes. Many people think that 'e-bike' is prohibited on the road. The traffic police stop this bike when they find it. The fact is that there is no ban on riding 'e-bikes' on roads. However, it is better to have a driving license to drive a two-wheeler motor or an electric bike. Driver and rider must wear helmet. It is for their safety.'
Md. Noman also said that, apart from the driver, another person can ride on the 'e-bike' made by Akiz. There are special arrangements for carrying heavy items. You can open the back seat and carry luggage there. There are also footrests for the rider. Which is quite big compared to other bikes. Even if the battery of this bike is exhausted, the rider can easily reach the destination by using the pedals.'
There are ways to know how much charge is in the battery of this electric bike. While riding an 'e-bike' your preparation will be similar to how you would think of refueling a petrol powered car. 'Eagle' has pedals as an additional advantage.'
The new bike uses front and rear drum brakes. Tire size 2.25-17. The bike also has front headlight and rear taillight for night riding. There are also signal lights for turning right or left. There is a basket in front of the bike. This large sized basket can easily carry many accessories.
