Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland gave this information in a statement on Friday.
According to international media reports, this ban has been imposed on the Myanmar general under Canada's 'The Justice for Victims of Corrupt Foreign Official Act'. That is why he cannot do any financial transactions in Canada or travel there. Also, all his bank accounts in the country will be seized.
Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland said that millions of Rohingya have been forced to flee due to the persecution of the Myanmar army, Major General Maung Maung Sue was one of the perpetrators of these persecutions. Canada can never stand idly by as this crime against humanity is committed against the Rohingya people.
Expressing solidarity with the Rohingyas, Canada's foreign minister said, "We will always stand with the ethnic minorities who continue to fight for their rights and respect. He also said that Myanmar's military and civilian government should respect human rights. Also those responsible for Rohingya human rights violations must be brought to justice.
It should be noted that the United States imposed sanctions against this Myanmar army officer in December.
