Many beards are styled and trimmed. But styling and trimming the beard is un-Islamic. That's why it has passed a proposal demanding closure of a district council of Pakistan! A person named Asif Khosa raised such a proposal in the Dera Ghazi Khan Zilla Parishad of Punjab province.
Such information has come up in the news of Indian Express. Asif said that in recent times, youths are doing different beard designs in the name of fashion, which is against Islamic teachings. 'French cut' and other styles of beard trimming are not permitted in Islam.
According to the proposal, trimming the beard in fashionable style (French cut, goatee) is contrary to Islam and Sunnah. In that proposal, the Deputy Commissioner of Dera Ghazi Khan was asked to implement the ban quickly. There have even been calls for strict action against 'those who make fun of beards'.
The proposal was passed by the Zilla Parishad with a majority vote. Later it was sent to Deputy Commissioner for further action.
Beard styling has become a popular fashion among the youth in different countries of the world. Pakistan is no exception. However, in this Muslim-majority country, various Islamic precepts are strictly followed.
