The Dhaka Times Desk Saheb Bulbul is called the 'Bird of Heaven'. The Asian Shabulbuli comes in two colors, red and white. It may have been given the name 'heavenly bird' in English because of its beautiful appearance.

Indian paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi)
Blyth's paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone affinis)
Amur paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone incei)
Although it looks a bit like a bulbul bird, this bird is not related to the bulbul family. Dudhraj's eye-catching feature is its huge long tail. After seeing its long tail one can think how this bird flies. Of course, he has no problem flying. Rather, when he flies with his long tail, he looks like he has come to earth for a few days from heaven. Its neck to tail length is 19 to 21 cm. On the head is a charming oil sheen jhuti. The eyes are blue. When young it is red and covered with rust. As they grow older, they become whiter and whiter. Such color variation is seen in very few birds.

A girl Dudhraj does not have long feathers like a boy Dudhraj. Dudhraj couple lives together. Its main food is insects. In addition, they are not equipped to catch insects and spiders. They carefully make cup-shaped nests of grass, leaves, and spider webs to stay in tall trees. Their favorite place is the bamboo grove. They can also be seen in mango-jackfruit orchards. Their breeding season begins in the month of Baisakh. They lay four to five eggs. Both parents give it to the egg. Two or three chicks grow from it. Dudhraj are rarely seen but their numbers are not very few. Although found all over the country, they are more common in Panchagarh and northern regions. It can also be seen in the Sundarbans. Frequented bushes are among the favorite places of Dudhraj. But this bird is decreasing in nature day by day. We all should be aware to save these beautiful birds of Bangladesh.
