The Dhaka Times Desk The use of touchscreens is increasing in the present era. Nowadays even children are getting used to using these touchscreens. But the researchers said, due to the use of touchscreens, the tendency of children to hold pencils is decreasing.

This may sound surprising to many, but the reality is that it is true. Kids these days are becoming more addicted to technology than an adult. There are still many people in our country who cannot use smartphones well. But if a child is handed a smartphone, it can be seen that he can use the touchscreen without learning anything.
It is seen again that parents are handing over their smartphones to children to keep them busy or to feed them. That is why they are getting addicted to smartphones from time to time.

In this regard, the researchers said, excessive use of touchscreen smartphones, tablets or video games can have serious harmful effects on children. Because of which your child will gradually become unable to even hold a pencil or pen.
According to doctors, children's finger muscles are hindered from developing properly while using a touchscreen phone or tablet. That's why finger strength does not increase. So when they go to grab a pencil, they don't get the force on their fingers. The finger does not move properly.

Sally Pyne, lead pediatric therapist at England Foundation NHS Trust, said children need finger muscle strength and proper muscle movement to hold a pencil correctly. Which is gradually decreasing due to the use of touchscreens. Due to not being able to hold the pencil properly, the handwriting is also getting worse. As a result of which children are getting low marks in exams. So children should avoid giving touchscreen mobiles or tablets in their hands for studying. They should be kept away from these technologies as far as possible.
