The Dhaka Times Desk Afghanistan's Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar has claimed that the news that has been circulated about the conflict between Taliban leaders over the formation of an interim government is false.
At the same time, Abdul Gani also dismissed the news of Baradar being injured. According to an NDTV news, he made such a claim in an interview on Wednesday.
In a video interview posted on Twitter from the Taliban's political office in Doha, Mullah Baradar added that I am fine and healthy.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan also said that the media is saying that there is an internal conflict between us. But we have nothing like that. The news of the dispute is not true at all. There is no reason to worry about it.
An official of the Taliban's cultural commission also said that the interview will be shown on RTA TV to disprove the 'enemy's propaganda'.
It is to be noted that during the visit of Qatar's foreign minister to Kabul last Sunday, Mullah Baradar was not there even though he met Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund. When asked about this, he said that, 'We did not know that the foreign minister was coming from Qatar. If we had known, we would have canceled the tour. We did not meet because we were on tour. It was not possible to return from the trip to meet the foreign minister. We would have joined the meeting with other friends if we got the news earlier.'
Taliban officials said Mullah Baradar had gone to Kandahar. Haibatullah Akhundzada, the group's top leader, is believed to live there.
