Meanwhile, after this incident, the Independent Television Authority asked 47 staff to stay in home quarantine.
Television Chief Executive M Shamsur Rahman said in a video message on Facebook on Friday that, "It is with great sadness that one of our colleagues has been diagnosed with Covid-19."
He said that the journalist went into 'self isolation' after showing symptoms on March 26. Two days ago he contacted IEDCR hotline.
"His sample came back, which unfortunately was positive."
Shasmur Rahman also said that they are also in touch with IEDCR regarding the issue. A list of 47 colleagues who came in contact with the infected journalist have all been asked to 'self-isolate'.
"If there are no symptoms in any of our colleagues within 5 days from the 26th, it means that there is no more infection."
It should be noted that 61 people have been infected with the deadly corona virus in Bangladesh so far. 6 people died.
