Many developers report that they have received emails from Apple asking them to change their passwords. However, Apple authorities said that they have not given any such mail. Later, Apple authorities investigated and found that their site had been hacked by an intruder impersonating a registered developer. Apple also said that the personal information of its registered software developers was also hacked.
Apple, however, ensures that the hacker could not hack the secret code of any application from the site because this information is sensitive personal information and no one can access it. However, Apple has not confirmed that the hacker accessed any user's email while the site was hacked.
However, after the hack, the site was shut down for maintenance and the site was quickly reopened by Apple officials.
Apple has apologized to site users for their site being hacked and to prevent such incidents, the company has announced to upgrade the entire database including developer system, server software.
