Trains are coming and going with passengers through this railway line after 1 hour. But shops on both sides of the railway line have been built by hanging triples with bamboo. As soon as the train arrives, the businessmen hold the bamboo and hold the triple, blow the whistle and catch it again when the train leaves!
On the surface, it can be seen that there are hundreds of illegal shops along both sides of the railway line dangerously selling different kinds of fruits, turmeric, chillies, dried fruits, furniture and raw materials.
The businessmen said that they were forced to sit with their shops next to the railway line at the risk of running their families. They have nothing to do. Due to which illegal shopkeepers and buyers are risking their lives. There are some stalls where the train actually sticks to the body of the train.
This is how the shops are running on both sides of the railway line risking their lives every day. Many times terrible accidents also happen.
It is known that you have to pay the advance of the shop by measuring. It is said that an advance of Tk 5,000 has to be paid for a tea shop on a 5 feet space next to the railway line.
It should be noted that the railway authorities conducted an eviction operation in Narayanganj on October 18, 2019. In this, about one kilometer long land was freed from illegal encroachment.
