It is known that the government of Bangladesh has appointed a French company as a consultant to decide how the country's second satellite 'Bangabandhu Satellite-2' will be.
Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited (BSCL) also signed an agreement with Price Water House Coopers Advisory, SAS on Tuesday.
In the contract signing ceremony at the head office of BSCL in Dhaka, its managing director Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury and PwC's partner Space Practice Leader Dr. Luigi Scatia signed the contract.
After signing the contract online, Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury handed over the contract to Suparna Roy, Associate Director, Government and Public Sector (PwC) Bangladesh.
Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar joined the program as the chief guest online. Post and Telecommunication Department Secretary Md. Afzal Hossain and Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikdar were special guests on the occasion.
Chairman of BSCL presided over. Shah Jahan Mahmud. Besides, the senior officials of both the organizations along with the members of the Board of Directors of BSCL were also present in the event. PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory, SAS, has been selected through a proper tendering process to determine the nature and type of satellite and conduct feasibility studies prior to construction and launch of the satellite.
