The Dhaka Times Desk West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made a proposal that in a big country like India, the Parliament session should be held in at least 4 capitals.
Although talking about making 4 capitals in South, North, East and North-East of India, Mamata did not mention West India in it.
However, many political analysts of the country see this proposal as an attempt to provoke the politics of provincialism ahead of the upcoming elections in West Bengal. From the administrative point of view, the idea of having multiple such capitals is considered unrealistic by the experienced former bureaucrats of the country.
However, Mamata Banerjee strongly believes that this problem can only be solved if the administrative structure in the United India is additionally Delhi-dependent and the capitals are rotated around the country as well as Delhi.
Mamata Banerjee explained the outline of her thoughts at a function organized on the occasion of Subhash Chandra Bose's birth anniversary in Kolkata on Saturday.
Mamata Banerjee said, I will say that Parliament sessions should be held in four places in India. We say this with everyone in mind, not from any narrow provincialism.
