The mosque you see is the historic Al Khaif Mosque. It is a very famous mosque. Especially to the Hajids. This mosque is one of the historical places.
Mina is about 8 km away from the holy city of Mecca. During the Hajj, Hajira camped here and performed some of the Hajj rituals.
Throwing pebbles at the symbolic pillar of Satan is one of the rituals of Hajj. This historic 'Masjide Khayep' is located at the stone throw site. From the history of this mosque, it is known that 70 Prophets prayed in this mosque.
The mosque is located just off the hill on the opposite side of Sattar Pahar. This huge mosque reminds pilgrims of many unknown events in history.
It is narrated that Hazrat Rasoolullah (SAW) prayed in this mosque and said that seventy prophets are buried here. Prophet Kareem (PBUH) also offered the Farewell Hajj prayer at Khaif Mosque. Many virtues of this mosque are mentioned in hadiths and history books. The high minarets of this huge mosque stand as if standing in line with the hilltop from a distance. A place lower than a mountain and higher than sea level is called Khaif in Arabic terms. The Arabs also call the valley-like land between two mountains Khayef. Khaif Mosque is considered as a monument of victory of Muslims against the infidels of Mecca.
