The Dhaka Times Desk Instant messaging app Imo recently launched a new feature 'Voice-to-Text' powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
It is capable of converting users' voice messages into text i.e. written messages in an appropriate manner. Under this new feature, imo users will see a 'voice-to-text' icon to the right of voice messages. Users can also access this feature from the menu found in the voice message bar. This will automatically convert the voice message into a text message. In the case of multiple voice messages, after the first message is converted to text, subsequent messages will automatically be converted to text.
Users who do not like to listen to voice messages, or are in situations where they cannot hear voice messages out loud – this feature will be especially useful. IMO developed the voice-to-text feature by working in-depth with artificial intelligence (AI) related technologies and their application methods. This feature is one of the top in terms of accuracy in communication and continues to improve the functionality of IMO.
Bangladesh is the first market where IMO has launched this feature, and Bengali is the first language for it. With continued investment by Imo, this feature will be rolled out for more languages and countries in the near future. Currently this feature is only open for Android users.
